The paradox here is that a pre-planned trip to watch all three group-stage matches could have cost roughly as much as a last-minute dash to catch one game.

If you’re looking to enjoy the full 5-week tournament experience and attend every game all the way to the final, you’ll be looking at spending at least £13,000. Return flights and lodgings aside, the web of internal domestic flights and FIFA’s steep ticketing structure certainly push this length of trip to the top end of the financial spectrum. Indeed, according to Goal.com, a single ticket for the World Cup final could cost anywhere between £1,510 and £5,860, depending on fluctuation and dynamic pricing.

Regardless of whether you choose to go for one game or for the full tournament experience, there are several essentials you’ll need to make sure you organise before you leave. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, all UK citizens will need to apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorisation) through the US Customs and Border Protection website. Without an approved ESTA, you will not gain entry to the United States.

France are without doubt one of the favourites to win the World Cup this summer. Manager Didier Deschamps, who will be stepping down after the tournament, has a plethora of talent at his disposal and will be eyeing a third championship title for Les Bleus.

Norway, playing at their first World Cup since 1998, caused a mini-upset by beating Italy to first spot in UEFA qualification Group I. Despite the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, the UK’s appetite for live music remains resilient. Research from MyVoucherCodes found 79% of music lovers spent an average of £318 on concert tickets over 12 months.

The study found that 18 -24-year-olds are particularly dedicated to the live music scene, as 54% have attended a concert over the 12-month period. However, how affordable these gigs are can be questioned when 1 in 7 of all concert goers admit to using BNPL services such as PayPal, Klarna or Clearpay to buy tickets.

Among the younger generation, a fifth of 18-24-year-old concert goers say they attend gigs to connect with other fans of the same artist. Showing that social interaction is a priority within this demographic, despite the cost.

When it comes to travel,1 in 10 of 45-54-year-olds surveyed said they have travelled outside the UK to see an artist, highlighting a willingness among this age group to go the extra mile for a unique experience.

Book all-inclusive

With all the various booking sites around, it's difficult to know whether all-inclusive holidays are actually more affordable or simply too good to be true. One fixed price that often includes flights, transfers, food and drink can often look like you're saving quite a bit of cash.

Request a room on a higher floor

This one is for all those who love a good hotel room, without the premium price tag. When we previously reached out to Hotels.com, they actually told us that "the higher the floor, the more premium the rooms, so don't hesitate to ask for a room on an upper floor".

We advise that you book your hotel as usual and request a room on a higher floor upon arrival. This then ensures that you won't pay any extra for a higher quality room that's further away from noisy streets.

Book for December or January

While everyone loves booking holidays during the Summer, breaks tend to work out cheaper when you book stays in December or January. In our previous piece, where we explored how to get cheaper hotel rooms, we found that some of the best prices for hotels are available in mid-late December, before they skyrocket around New Year's Eve.

Hotels.com told us, "The first two weeks of January are usually the quietest travel weeks and the perfect time to grab a bargain. You might think travelling around the holiday season would cost more, but in fact, corporate hotels have great availability and prices in the last two weeks of December."

There are a variety of holiday booking apps to choose from nowadays, which can be super useful when it comes to finding more ways to save on your holiday.

It's also worth keeping an eye out for deals and promotions throughout the year, and the best way to do that is by signing up for newsletters or following holiday companies on social media.

Factoring in the price of a flight is just as important as budgeting for a hotel and can more often than not be the deciding factor in your holiday. We discovered some of the best travel destinations for budget travellers, and found that the most expensive flights were to countries such as Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Chile, while the cheapest flights were to Poland, Portugal and Spain.

All you need are around three small bunches of flowers - I usually manage to get them for under £10. Then have a go at forming them into a stunning bouquet. It’s easier than you think, and now I’m never going back to shop-bought arrangements.

9. Spring baking

I love baking, and often find myself making delicious goodies in the colder months. But spring is such a wonderful time to get in the kitchen – not only are there more diverse sweet treat options to make, but there’s nothing more wholesome than enjoying a slice of cake out in the garden.

10. A rainy walk

Now, I know this one won’t be for everybody, but I, for one, love a rainy walk. If you’re not afraid of a little rain, grab your favourite raincoat and preferably some wellies, and get outside. Holiday bookings in the Easter school holidays are down by 12% compared to 2025, new research from MyVoucherCodes has revealed.

Just 26% of Brits have booked a holiday in the upcoming Easter school holidays (March 29^th-April 9^th), compared to 38% in 2025.

Concerns surrounding global events appear to be influencing travel behaviour. The survey found that 12% of people have changed or avoided holiday plans in 2026 due to world events causing travel concerns. Within this group, 3% say they have cancelled a planned holiday, while 9% say they have avoided booking a trip altogether.

The findings also show a decline in domestic breaks. In 2026, 15% of people say they are planning a UK staycation, down from 25% last year, suggesting that even UK trips are seeing reduced demand.

Spending on Easter holidays has also fallen year-on-year. On average, Brits are spending £965.78 on an Easter holiday in 2026, compared with £1,271.86 in 2025.

Families are also tightening their budgets. Among respondents travelling with children, the average Easter holiday spend for one child is £1054.44 in 2026, down from £1,238.50 in 2025. For those travelling with two children, the average spend is £1,160.86 this year, compared to £1,561.60 last year.

Sarah-Jane Outten, savings expert at MyVoucherCodes, commented on the findings:

"The drop in Easter holiday bookings this year shows that many Brits are feeling cautious about travel, whether that’s due to global uncertainty or simply rising costs. Even those who are travelling appear to be tightening their budgets compared to last year, which reflects a broader trend of consumers becoming more value-conscious when planning trips."

She added:

"The good news is that with some careful planning, there are still plenty of ways for families to enjoy a break without overspending. From using discount codes to being flexible with travel dates, a few smart choices can make a big difference to the overall cost of a holiday. Here are my top five tips to save money on travel this Easter:

• Book flights and accommodation separately Sometimes booking elements of a trip individually can reveal cheaper options than packaged deals.
• Use voucher codes and cashback sites Applying discount codes or booking through cashback platforms can help reduce the overall cost of flights, hotels and travel extras.
• Be flexible with travel dates Travelling a day earlier or later can significantly reduce flight and accommodation prices.
• Consider alternative airports or destinations Flying from a nearby airport or choosing less tourist-heavy destinations can often lead to better deals.
• Set price alerts for flights and hotels Using comparison sites and price alerts can help travellers book at the lowest available price.

If you've searched for a Vue membership, you've probably hit the same wall I did. Vue's own pages tell you the scheme is free and rewarding, then get a bit vague on the details that actually matter. How many stamps do you get per booking? Does the box office count? What's the free ticket actually worth?

I've been a Club Vue member since the scheme relaunched under its new name, and I've done the sums so you don't have to. Below is everything Vue tells you, plus the bits it doesn't, including the one booking habit that can double how quickly a family earns rewards.

What is Club Vue?

Club Vue is Vue's free loyalty scheme, and it lives inside the Club Vue app (previously just called the Vue app). Every booking you make earns a digital stamp, and once you've collected 10 stamps, Vue drops a free cinema ticket into your account.

The rewards side of the scheme is called Club Perks, and it's exclusive to the app. That's where your digital stamp book sits, along with any free snacks, drinks or bonus treats Vue hands out through the year.

If you've seen the terms Vue Members, Club Perks and Club Vue used interchangeably and wondered if they're different things, they're not really. Being a Vue Member gets you self-refundable tickets and member offers. The Club Vue app is where the stamps and perks live. Sign up once and you're covered for the lot.

Is a Club Vue membership free?

Yes, completely. There's no monthly fee, no annual charge and no paid tier hiding behind the free one. Vue doesn't run a paid subscription for regular cinemagoers at all, which surprises a lot of people (more on that further down).

All it costs you is an email address. Download the Club Vue app from the App Store or Google Play, register in a few taps, and stamps start collecting automatically whenever you book through your account.

How to join Club Vue

Signing up takes about two minutes:

1. Download the Club Vue app from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Register with your email address, or sign in if you already had an account from the old Vue app. Your existing account carries over, so there's no need to start fresh.
3. Set your favourite cinema and your usual number of seats in the app. It's optional, but it makes future bookings quicker.
4. Book your next film through the app while signed in. Your first stamp is added automatically after the screening.

That's it. There's no approval wait and no minimum spend to unlock the perks.

One question I see asked a lot: is there a Vue membership card? No, and there never was a physical one for this scheme. Everything runs through the app, which acts as your card, your stamp book and your ticket wallet in one. If you're used to supermarket-style loyalty cards, think of the app as the card. The upside is you can't leave it in your other coat.

How Club Vue stamps work (and the small print that matters)

This is where Vue's own pages go quiet, so here's the detail:

You earn one stamp per booking, not per ticket. Book four seats for the family in one transaction and you still get one stamp. This is the single most important thing to know about the scheme, and it's buried in the terms rather than the marketing.

Stamps only land on bookings made through your account. Book through the app or online while signed in and you're fine. Walk up to the box office and pay at the till, and that trip won't count towards your stamp book.

Your stamp arrives after the film, not when you book. Vue adds the stamp once the screening has actually happened, so don't panic if your stamp book doesn't update the second you pay.

The free ticket appears the day after your 10th booking. It drops into the rewards section of the app automatically. No claiming, no codes to dig out.

The booking trick that earns stamps faster

Because stamps are per booking rather than per ticket, there's a simple workaround if you go as a couple or a family: book your seats in separate transactions on separate accounts. Two adults booking individually earn two stamps per trip instead of one. Over a year of monthly cinema trips, that's the difference between one free ticket and two.

It's slightly more faff at checkout, and you'll want to pick seats quickly so you end up sitting together. But if you were going anyway, it's free money.

How to use your Club Vue free ticket

Once your reward lands, redeeming it is straightforward. Head to the rewards tab in the app, and apply the free ticket when you book your next film. You can also redeem at the box office if you'd rather sort it in person. Vue has a full walkthrough on its Club Vue page if you get stuck.

Two things to check before you get excited:

• It covers standard 2D seats. Super Saver, Saver and Regular seats are included. Fancy a recliner, VIP seat or a 3D or IMAX screening? You'll pay an upgrade fee on top.
• It expires. Your reward has its own expiry date shown in the app, usually a few months from when it's issued. Don't earn ten stamps and then sit on the prize.

Is a Club Vue membership worth it? Let's do the maths

Short answer: yes, because it's free and you lose nothing by joining. But it's worth being honest about what the rewards are actually worth, because "free tickets" sounds more generous than the numbers suggest.

Say you're a solo cinemagoer paying around £6 a ticket booked online. Ten bookings costs you roughly £60, and your reward is one standard ticket worth about £6. That works out at roughly 10% back, which is genuinely decent for a loyalty scheme, on par with the better supermarket ones.

Now run the same numbers for a family of four booking together. Ten trips at four tickets a time is around £240 spent, for the same single free ticket. That's closer to 2.5% back. Still free, still worth having, but a much weaker deal, and exactly why the separate bookings trick above matters for groups.

The other member perk is arguably worth more than the stamps: self-refundable tickets. Members can refund any online booking up to two hours before the film starts, straight from the app, no questions asked. If plans change inside that two-hour window, you'll need to contact Vue's customer service via webchat instead. For anyone who's ever lost money on a cinema ticket because a babysitter cancelled, this alone justifies the two minutes it takes to sign up.

Does Club Vue have an unlimited pass or subscription?

No, and this catches a lot of people out. Unlike Cineworld's Unlimited scheme or ODEON's myLIMITLESS, Vue doesn't offer a monthly subscription that gets you unlimited films. Club Vue's stamp system is the whole loyalty offering.

You may also have come across something called Vue Pass and assumed it was a subscription. It isn't. Vue Pass is a business scheme that lets companies bulk-buy discounted tickets (minimum order of 50) to give to staff or customers, so unless your employer signs up, it's not something you can use.

If unlimited cinema is what you're after, you'd need to look at a rival chain. Both Cineworld Unlimited and ODEON myLIMITLESS typically pay for themselves at around two visits a month, and if you're weighing up the ODEON route, our ODEON discount codes can trim the cost of trying it before you commit. For everyone who visits less often than fortnightly, Vue's free scheme plus the discounts below will beat a paid pass comfortably.

How to stack Club Vue with other Vue discounts

Here's the part that turns a decent free scheme into properly cheap cinema. Club Vue stamps come from bookings, not from paying full price, so the smart move is to pair your membership with a partner offer and earn stamps on discounted trips. Vue lists its current partner deals on its offers page, but these are the regulars:

• Sky Cinema customers get two free Vue tickets every month, valid Sunday to Thursday.
• Meerkat Movies (via Compare the Market) gets you 2-for-1 tickets every Tuesday or Wednesday for a year.
• O2 Priority runs 2 tickets for £9, any day, plus 20% off snacks and drinks.
• Mini Mornings screenings cost from £2.49 per ticket for kids and adults alike at weekend morning showings.

Your supermarket loyalty points can chip in too. Tesco Clubcard vouchers are worth double with Tesco's Reward Partners, exchangeable from as little as 50p, and cinema partners have featured in the line-up alongside the big chains. Booking online rather than at the till saves money as well as earning your stamp, since online prices typically run about £1 cheaper per ticket than box office prices.

More than one in five UK residents (22%) have previously had to forgo visiting friends or family over Christmas due to spiralling travel costs, new research has revealed.*

The figures highlight the impact extortionate travel fees are having on the nation’s festive plans, with many being completely priced out of seeing loved ones.

The figures come from a new survey by MyVoucherCodes, which asked the nation about its Christmas travel plans. It found that Londoners are especially likely to miss out.

More than a third (39%) of those in the capital stated that they have had to make this difficult choice at least once in the past - the highest percentage in the UK.

According to the popular voucher code site, UK residents will spend an average of £108.41 travelling to visit loved ones over the festive period, equal to approximately £5 billion nationwide.**

Costs are to be particularly high for Londoners, who are expected to spend an average of £170.64 visiting friends and family, indicating this is the reason why they are most likely to opt against travelling.

Younger groups are also expected to be among the largest spenders on Christmas travel. Under-25s will pay an average of £156 visiting loved ones this year - over £100 more than over-65s, who are forecast to spend just £44 on average.

Under-25s are also most likely to rely on public transport, with just 46% saying they will travel by car - the lowest percentage in the UK. This indicates that public transport fees are responsible for their especially high travel costs.

Overall, most of those travelling said they will visit loved ones via car over Christmas (71%). Just under a quarter (23%) said they will get a train, while around one in 10 (13%) are planning to take a coach or bus.

A whopping three quarters of Brits (75%) have visited a Christmas market, cementing them as one of the nation’s favourite winter traditions, new research from leading discount site MyVoucherCodes has revealed.*

The survey found that a further 12% of respondents haven’t yet attended one but plan to in the future, while only 9% said they have no intention of ever visiting a Christmas market.

According to the findings, the average Brit has been to five Christmas markets, spending £109.58 at each one – covering everything from mulled wine and festive food to gifts and decorations.

A new survey has revealed that while almost four in ten (39%) UK adults have attended a live music concert or gig in the last year, a significant number are feeling the pressure of rising costs, with the average fan spending £318 annually for standalone live music gigs/concerts in the past 12 months.

The study, conducted by MyVoucherCodes, shows that despite the cost-of-living crisis, live music remains a vital part of UK culture. The appetite for live events is particularly strong among the younger generation, with over half (54%) of 18-24-year-olds having attended a gig in the last 12 months.

However, the financial strain is evident. The research found that almost one in seven (14%) of all concert-goers have used BNPL services like Klarna, PayPal, or ClearPay to purchase tickets. This figure soars to almost a quarter (24%) among 25-34 year olds, suggesting that for many, the cost of a ticket has become unaffordable.

The findings also reveal how concert goers are saving money on tickets:

• Buying pre-sale or early-bird tickets: 22% of fans use this method to secure a better price.
• Opting for cheaper seating: 19% choose tickets in less expensive parts of the venue.
• Attending midweek concerts: 11% of concert-goers save money by avoiding peak weekend events.

The research also uncovered some surprising generational trends:

• Travel for the ultimate gig: Almost one in ten (10%) of 45-54 year olds who attend concerts have travelled outside the UK to see an artist, highlighting a willingness among this age group to go the extra mile for a unique experience.
• The social connection: A fifth of 18-24-year-old concert goers say they attend gigs to connect with other fans of the same artist, underscoring the communal and social aspect of live music for this demographic.
• Filming vs. Experiencing: Nearly six in ten (58%) of 18-34 year old concert-goers film at least part of the event on their phone, a stark contrast to just 18% of those aged 55 and over, who are more likely to be present in the moment.

The overwhelming sentiment among fans is that the industry is becoming unaffordable. Almost eight in ten (79%) concert-goers agree that everyday fans are being priced out of attending live events.

Hidden Fees and UK law history

The UK Competition and Markets Authority obtained a court order against Viagogo in 2018, requiring changes to how key information and pricing are presented to customers. Viagogo has come under fire for its use of "drip pricing," a deceptive practice in which additional costs are added late in the checkout process, resulting in a higher final cost than expected.

To help make travelling across Scotland more affordable, ScotRail has removed all peak rail fares from its train services. This will take effect as of the 1st of September 2025.

This choice will come as good news for commuters who are currently facing rising prices in energy and everyday items such as chocolate, butter and eggs. Train fares will now cost the same amount throughout the day.

First Minister John Swinney said, "Scrapping ScotRail peak fares will keep more money in people’s pockets and make train travel more appealing to commuters, providing savings on journeys to and from work. It will also ensure tickets can be used at any time of day, avoiding confusion and making people’s journeys simpler. "

The Managing Director at ScotRail, Joanne Maguire, also said, "The removal of peak fares from ScotRail services is fantastic news for both our existing customers and for people across the country thinking about rail travel for commuting or leisure journeys."

As an example of the savings that commuters can now make, during peak times, Glasgow to Edinburgh used to cost £32.60 and now just costs £16.80 (which is a saving of 48%), and Stirling to Glasgow used to cost £18.20 and now costs £10.80 (a saving of 41%).

This news follows a promise made by ScotRail earlier this year, with Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Fiona Hyslop, announcing, "ScotRail also continue to develop fares initiatives which can help attract more passengers, while offering savings and added value to existing rail users.”

Commuters may be finding themselves priced out of catching the train in 2026 as fares could rise by 5.8%. Rail fares are usually calculated by adding one percentage point to July's inflation readings on the retail prices index.

In 2024, the retail prices index (RPI) read that inflation was at 3.6% as of July. This caused ministers to raise the price of rail tickets by 4.6% in March the following year (2025).

As of July 2025, the RPI read that inflation was at 4.8%. If ministers follow the same rules set in the previous year, we can expect train fares to rise by 5.8%.

This price is higher than the predicted 5.6% rise, after the retail prices index and the consumer price index measured that inflation rose higher than expected.

With the rising prices on food and other everyday items, people may find themselves struggling to use the train to commute, something that Bruce Williams, a spokesperson for Railfuture said, "It’s ripping off the customer, driving people off the trains and on to our congested road network, which is in no one’s interest."

With the projected rise in fares, commuters can expect annual season tickets from Woking to Leeds to rise from £4260 to £4507 and from Gloucester to Birmingham to rise from £5384 to £5696.

A spokesperson from the Department for Transport had this to say about the potential price increase: "The government is putting passengers at the heart of its plans for public ownership and Great British Railways, delivering the services they deserve and driving growth."

"No decisions have been made on next year’s rail fares, but our aim is that prices balance affordability for both passengers and taxpayers."

Train passengers have seen a 5.1% rise in their ticket prices across the UK when compared to last Summer, almost double the rate of inflation. During the same time period, inflation has risen by 3.2% measured by the Retail Prices Index.

By April 2025, regulated rail fares had seen an increase of 4.5% in England and Wales, which is slightly below the cap of 4.6% set by the Department of Transport and Scotland had hit its cap of 3.8%. Advance fares on trains in London and South-East England (which accounts for almost half of rail fare revenue) have seen a rise by almost 10%.

The Office of Rail and Road also reported that unregulated long-distance advance fares had risen by 5.9% by March 2025, compared to last year.

People have started to speak out against the huge price hike, with Ben Plowden, the chief executive of the Campaign for Better Transport, saying, "Rising rail fares are putting people off using the railways and making rail travel unaffordable. The government must make fares and ticketing reforms a priority under Great British Railways to help tackle inflation-busting fare rises and make rail travel more affordable for more people."

As a result of the backlash, Heidi Alexander, the transport secretary, said, "I understand that passengers are frustrated rail fares keep rising despite unacceptable levels of delays and cancellations, which is why this government made sure this was the lowest increase in three years, and below the growth in average earnings."

A Monday to Friday break can often be cheaper than a Friday to Monday stay, or the same price, which means you potentially get a free night. However, don’t forget that an extra night means extra meals, etc., so factor that in to the cost, too.  

Choose a Bed and Breakfast 

If you are wondering if a B&B is cheaper than a hotel, the answer is often yes. Remember, you will probably get fewer amenities than a hotel, and B&BS are usually smaller, including room sizes. However, it’s common for the rates to be per room rather than per person and that saves some money.  

Consider a Hostel

 England and Wales are home to some fantastic family-friendly hostels. There are many options available, prices start at £15 a night, and you can even hire out an entire hostel if you have a big family or group. Hostels can be a great value last-minute escape, so check them out for your next adventure. Annual membership can bring down the cost even further. The YHA lists all the locations available.  

Book directly with the hotel

If a hotel stay is your perfect break, book directly with the hotel. Third-party sites are often more expensive, so contacting the hotel yourself might save you a few quid. And if you are booking last minute, don’t be afraid to haggle. You might be able to negotiate a cheaper price or bag a free breakfast, or upgrade.

Almost four in 10 (38%) Brits are planning to take a holiday during the upcoming Easter holidays, according to new research undertaken by discount voucher site MyVoucherCodes.

The study shows that one in four (25%) respondents are going on a UK-based trip this Easter with 13% opting to travel abroad. Two-thirds (64%) of people aren’t travelling anywhere.

Notably, more men than women are getting in on the Easter getaway action, with almost half (46%) of male respondents saying they’ll be heading on holiday compared to just 31% of women. 

It’s those aged 25 to 34 most keen to holiday this Easter, with 67% planning a holiday. Meanwhile, 57% of those aged 18 to 24 are also planning a getaway.

When it comes to cost, the average Brit is spending £1271.86 on their Easter getaway, although this drops by almost £400 for those without children, who spend an average of £863.40   .

The research also reveals that families with children are expected to spend significantly more on their Easter breaks. The average spend for a parent with one child is £1238.50, while families with two children are set to spend £1561.60.

January Sales have been part of British culture for decades. But while traditionally shoppers would be scooping up all the cut-price Winter wear, the annual event has evolved to treating yourself and your loved ones to a getaway, whether that be UK-based or abroad. 

A recent study undertaken by discount voucher codes website MyVoucherCodes revealed that this year, 39% of sale shoppers will be trying to bag a bargain trip away. The results also show that 53% of those purchasing holidays are male and 46% are female.

Regionally, those in Northern Ireland love a cut-price getaway, with 65% of shoppers saying they’re likely to buy one in the January sales. Next are Londoners, with 59% showing interest in a discounted holiday.

The survey also showed that the average spend of a person shopping in the January sales is £225.51. Men will splurge more than women, with an average of £249.89 per shopper and women spending £204.15.

The age range spending the most is 25-34 with £291.37 and next are those aged 35-44, who are set to spend £237.01.

Regionally, Londoners like to splash the cash the most in the new year sales with £287.26 per shopper.

How to make air fryer smores:

Taking the kids out of school during term time for a holiday is controversial. And parents across the UK face the same issue each year, as holiday operators hike prices up every half term and summer holiday. 

As a mum of three, I’ve spent over 20 years ensuring my family get the holiday they deserve at a price we can afford. And for us, that means taking the kids out of school during term time. 

To be clear, this doesn't mean I take the kids out of school without careful consideration.* I’ve avoided any periods that I feel are detrimental to their educational journey, exam times for example. But I firmly believe that education also happens at home and when we travel. I, like many parents, don’t always have the budget to pay for expensive school holidays - but I won’t forfeit important family time that we can’t get back either.

I’m a huge fan of UK holidays, but they aren’t cheaper than going abroad - UK self-catering has never looked so expensive! But how much can you really save if you decide to take the family on holiday during term time? 

I booked a 4-night (Monday to Friday) break to Cornwall this May (term time) for 2 adults and 1 child. Via Hoseasons we stayed at Sandymouth Bay Holiday Resort on the North Coast of Cornwall in a fully equipped lodge with countryside and sea views. The resort itself had a bar, restaurant, entertainment, swimming pool and kid's play areas. 

We had a fantastic time, without breaking the bank. We were able to take our son to new places, try different foods and spend quality time together as a family. My husband, like many parents in the UK, is allocated his holiday time from his workplace. So our reason for term-time holidays is about more than just money. If we hadn't holidayed in term-time we wouldn't have had a holiday at all this year. 

Other advantages of term-time holidays

As you can see the saving speaks for itself. But term time holidays are beneficial in other ways. By avoiding the school holidays you can:

• Easily get a table at restaurants and cafes (often the more affordable ones!)
