I joined MyVoucherCodes as a Deal Expert, searching the web and sourcing the best deals, discount codes and sales to benefit our readers. I decided to combine these money-saving skills with my love of writing and become an Editor, sharing what I have learned to help you get the most out of your money. As a student for four years, I understand the need to budget for groceries and essentials and get more for less. I'm also a vegetarian and enjoy providing shopping advice for veggie and vegan diets. As well as giving budget-friendly advice here at MVC, I have written money-saving works for well-known publications such as The Sun, iPaper, My Weekly, NationalWorld, MoneyNet and Pick Me Up!
In my spare time, I play video games and write reviews for GameReport. I also enjoy anything related to technology and cool gadgets and constantly add extras and components to my home gaming computer. Additionally, I know a bit about DIY. Having worked in a tool store as a student and bought a home that needed major renovations, I enjoy fixing things on a budget.
My Top Saving Tip
I buy many tech items and thoroughly recommend buying refurbished items whenever possible. Refurbished tech comes with a warranty and is cheaper than buying brand-new, so look out for registered refurbished sections for big-name brands or stores that specialise in renewing used tech. The savings are worth it.
What was the best saving you made?
During the lockdown period, computer parts such as graphics cards were in very short supply and sold at a significant premium. I constantly looked for deals to update my home gaming computer until I found a sale from Ebuyer through their eBay page. An RX 6900XT graphics card was on sale from £800 to £600; using a 10% eBay discount code from MyVoucherCodes, I picked up the graphics card for £540, a considerable saving of £260. I also sold my older graphics card to add to my savings. A huge win!
Who are my favourite retailers?
I love gaming and enjoy saving money on video games and in-game currencies so I often shop at CDkeys to save cash on expansions for Guild Wars 2 or Final Fantasy XIV. I also love buying tech from Ebuyer through eBay because they have regular discount codes on refurbished tech to add to my collection.
