Delivery & Returns FAQs
Can I return items at Etsy?
Returns on Etsy depend on the individual seller's policy and your applicable consumer rights. Some shops accept returns and exchanges, while others may exclude certain products, including personalised or made-to-order items.
Check the returns policy on the product listing before purchasing. If your order arrives damaged, isn't as described or doesn't arrive, contact the seller through Etsy's Help with order service. Your statutory rights may also apply, depending on the seller and circumstances.
How do I cancel my Etsy order?
If you need to cancel an Etsy order, sign in to your account, visit Purchases and reviews, find your order and select Help with order.
You'll need to contact the seller to request cancellation, as individual shops manage their own orders. Whether cancellation is possible depends on factors including the seller's policies, the order's status and your legal rights.
If there's an unresolved problem with your order, you may be able to ask Etsy to review the issue through its case system.
Does Etsy offer free UK delivery?
Yes, some Etsy sellers offer free UK delivery on selected products or orders that meet a minimum spending requirement.
To find eligible items, search for a product on Etsy and use the free-delivery filter. You can also look for shop-specific free-delivery coupons.
Delivery costs vary between sellers, so compare the total price, including postage, before completing your order. A product with a smaller discount and free delivery could work out cheaper than one with a larger discount and additional postage charges.
Other FAQs
How do Etsy discount codes and coupons work?
Etsy offers two main types of coupons: shop coupons created by individual sellers and Etsy-funded coupons issued to eligible shoppers.
A shop coupon only applies to purchases from the seller offering it. Etsy-funded coupons may work across multiple eligible shops, subject to the promotion's conditions.
Check whether your Etsy discount code has a minimum spend, expiry date or product restrictions before applying it at checkout.
Is Etsy safe and reliable?
Etsy operates a Purchase Protection programme covering qualifying orders that don't arrive, arrive damaged, arrive significantly later than the estimated delivery window or differ substantially from their descriptions or photographs.
If an order qualifies, you may be entitled to a full refund. Eligibility conditions apply, so protection isn't automatic for every purchase or dispute.
Before ordering, check the seller's reviews, delivery estimate, product description and returns policy. If something goes wrong, contact the seller through Help with order before escalating the issue to Etsy.
Can I get an Etsy discount code for my first order?
You may be able to find a first-order Etsy discount through selected seller promotions or offers issued to eligible customers. However, a discount isn't guaranteed for every new customer or across every Etsy shop.
Before placing your first order, check the available coupons and their eligibility requirements. Comparing seller promotions and delivery charges can also help you find a better price without relying on an introductory code.
Does Etsy offer a student discount?
Etsy doesn't provide an automatic student discount across every shop on its marketplace. However, students can still take advantage of eligible discount codes, seller promotions, sale prices and free-delivery offers.
Check whether an advertised student promotion requires verification or is simply a general offer available to all customers.
How do I contact an Etsy seller?
To contact an Etsy seller before purchasing, open the product listing and select Message Seller.
For an existing purchase, sign in to your Etsy account, go to Purchases and reviews, locate the order and choose Help with order.
Contacting a seller is particularly useful when checking personalisation options, dispatch times, product details or the conditions of a shop-specific discount.
Can I use more than one Etsy discount code?
Some Etsy discounts can be combined, depending on the coupon type and promotion terms.
For shop promotions, Etsy allows up to two eligible offers on an item, provided one is for free delivery. Etsy-funded coupons can also sometimes be used alongside seller discounts or sales.
Not every combination is permitted, so check your basket to see which savings have been applied before paying.
Our Etsy Money-Saving Tips
There are several ways to save money on Etsy beyond entering a coupon code. Because Etsy is a marketplace with independent sellers, comparing prices, delivery charges and available promotions can help you make your budget go further.
Compare the total price before buying
A bigger discount doesn't always mean a cheaper purchase.
For example, a £30 item with 10% off and £5 delivery costs £32 overall. A similar £30 item with free delivery would actually cost less.
When comparing Etsy products, look at the final price, delivery charges and estimated arrival date rather than focusing only on the advertised discount.
Find free delivery and sale items
Use Etsy's search filters to narrow down products with free delivery or special offers.
You can also filter by price, shop location and estimated delivery date. This can be particularly helpful when shopping for personalised gifts or handmade products within a specific budget.
Some sellers offer free delivery above a minimum order value, so check whether buying several items from the same shop could reduce your total cost.
Look out for personalised coupon offers
Some Etsy sellers send discount coupons to eligible shoppers who have favourited their products or left items in their baskets.
These offers aren't guaranteed, but they're worth checking if you're considering a purchase.
If you receive a coupon, review its expiry date, eligible products and minimum spending requirements before using it.
Shop seasonal sales and seller promotions
Individual Etsy sellers can run their own sales, including reductions on selected products or purchases that meet a minimum order value.
Look out for seasonal promotions around Christmas, Black Friday, Mother's Day and other popular gifting occasions.
If you're buying several presents, compare offers from different sellers and check whether purchasing multiple items from one shop offers better value.
Check whether your discounts can be combined
Some Etsy coupons can be used alongside other eligible promotions.
For example, an Etsy-funded coupon may be accepted alongside a shop discount, while certain seller offers can be combined with free delivery.
Always review the final basket price to confirm which promotions have been applied. Etsy may also automatically apply the best available seller offer when several promotions are running.

What If My Discount Code Doesn't Work?
If your Etsy discount code isn't working, check the following before trying another offer:
Check the seller: Some coupons only work at individual Etsy shops.
Review the minimum spend: Your order may need to reach a certain value before the discount applies.
Check product exclusions: A coupon might only apply to selected listings.
Look at the expiry date: The promotion may have ended.
Check your eligibility: Certain Etsy-issued coupons are only available to selected customers or can only be used once.
Review currency restrictions: Your order may need to use the same currency specified in the offer.
Check existing promotions: Another discount may already be applied, and not every offer can be combined.
If your coupon still isn't working, check the terms or contact the relevant seller. You can also report an incorrect or outdated offer to MyVoucherCodes at info@myvouchercodes.co.uk.
How We Make Money
Using our discount codes is totally free, although we understand that this may seem too good to be true. Like all businesses, we need to make money, and we do this via commission-based relationships with brands and retailers - we earn a small percentage from the retailer every time someone uses a code on our website or clicks through to a sale.
We also make money by offering the brands we work with the chance to buy some extra space on our website, in turn giving more exposure to their biggest and best discounts. And that’s it! By using this model, we’re able to do what we do without charging our customers a penny.
