FAQs

Are there Uber Eats promo codes for existing customers?

Most Uber Eats promo codes are for new accounts, so existing customers need to look in a few other places. Start with the Promotions section of your Uber Eats account, where any promos already on your account are listed with their expiry dates. Restaurant offers are open to existing customers too and apply automatically at checkout, and Uber One members get a £0 delivery fee on eligible orders over £15.

How do I get money off my first Uber Eats order?

Use one of the first-order codes on this page. Add it under Promotions in your Uber Eats account before you place your first order, as codes can’t be added once an order has gone through. Check the terms for a minimum spend and whether the discount covers one order or is split across several.

Can I use an Uber Eats promo code on KFC or McDonald’s orders?

You can if the code’s terms allow it, so check for restaurant exclusions and any minimum spend. Chains like KFC and McDonald’s may also run their own offers on Uber Eats, shown on their store page, and these apply automatically. Restaurant offers go on first, then your highest-value account promo, and only one promo code can be used per order.

For deals in the chains’ own apps, see our KFC discount codes and McDonald’s discount codes pages.

Can I use more than one promo code on an Uber Eats order?

No. Only one promo code can be applied to each order, and if a code is for a fixed amount, anything you don’t use doesn’t carry over to your next order. Restaurant offers can still apply alongside your code, because they’re added automatically before your account promo.

Do Uber Eats promo codes work on grocery orders?

It depends on the code, so check which shops its terms cover before you build a big basket. Uber One members get a £0 delivery fee on eligible grocery orders over £25, and grocery orders under £15 pick up a £3 small order fee, so one larger shop usually works out cheaper than several small ones.

Do Uber Eats offer a student discount?

Yes. Uber One for Students gives eligible students a four-week free trial, then costs £2.49 a month, around half the standard monthly price. It includes the main Uber One benefits, such as a £0 delivery fee on eligible orders over £15, and eligibility is checked through SheerID. You’ll find more offers for students on our student discounts page.

Do Uber Eats offer an NHS discount?

Uber has run one-off offers for NHS staff in the past, such as free rides and food at Christmas. Any new NHS offer we find for Uber Eats will be listed on this page, and you can see current offers from other brands on our NHS discounts page.

Delivery FAQs

How much does Uber Eats delivery cost?

The delivery fee depends on your location, the restaurant and how many couriers are nearby. Uber Eats’ UK fee guide puts it between £0.29 and £14.99. You’ll also pay either a service fee (for restaurant orders delivered by Uber, 12% of your subtotal, between £0.99 and £3.29) or a marketplace fee if the shop uses its own drivers. The full breakdown is shown before you pay.

Can I get free delivery on Uber Eats?

Yes, in a few ways. Uber One members get a £0 delivery fee on eligible orders over £15, or over £25 for groceries, from shops marked with the Uber One icon. Some restaurants run their own free delivery offers, and collecting your order yourself avoids the delivery fee where pick-up is available. Other fees, such as the service fee, can still apply.

Can I pick up my Uber Eats order?

Yes, from restaurants that offer pick-up. You order and pay in the app, then collect it yourself, so there’s no delivery fee to pay. Not every restaurant offers it, and virtual restaurants, which only sell through delivery apps, don’t offer collection.

Cancellation and Refund FAQs

There was a problem with my order, can I get a refund?

You can ask for one. If items are missing or wrong, or the order arrived late, report it as soon as possible through Help on that order in the Uber Eats app. Say exactly what was wrong and add photos if you can. Refunds aren’t guaranteed, so the more detail you give, the better.

Our Uber Eats Money-Saving Tips

Check your Promotions before you look for a code
Open the app, tap the profile icon and go to Promotions. Active promos show at the top, with their expiry date and the country they work in. Uber Eats applies restaurant offers first, then the highest-value promo on your account. You can pick a different promo for an order or save one for a bigger shop later.

Work out whether Uber One pays for itself
Uber One costs £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year. It removes the delivery fee on eligible restaurant orders over £15 and eligible grocery orders over £25 from shops marked with the Uber One icon, and cuts the service fee by up to 60% on qualifying orders. Other fees, such as Priority Delivery, still apply. As a rough illustration (not an offer): if you usually pay around £2.50 in delivery fees, two qualifying orders a month cover the monthly fee before any service fee savings, while one order a month probably won’t. Students can get Uber One for £2.49 a month after a four-week free trial. Our guide on whether Uber One is worth it breaks down the numbers in more detail.

Avoid the small order fee
Uber Eats adds a £0.99 small order service fee to restaurant orders under £10, and £3 to grocery and convenience orders under £15. If your basket is just under either line, adding something you’d buy anyway can cost about the same as the fee. For example, a £9.50 restaurant basket picks up the extra £0.99. Adding a £1 drink takes you over £10, so you’re paying for a drink rather than a fee.

Pick Saver Delivery if you’re not in a rush
At checkout, Saver Delivery takes between 50p and £1 off in exchange for a slower drop-off, because couriers deliver other nearby orders first. The faster options cost more: Priority Delivery adds £1.49 to £4.99, and Skip the Wait adds £1.50 to £7.99. Ordering from a restaurant within the standard 4km delivery distance also avoids the Long Range fee of up to £3.99.

Collect it yourself
Some restaurants on Uber Eats offer pick-up, so you can order in the app and collect it yourself instead of paying for delivery. Not every restaurant offers it, and virtual restaurants don’t offer collection, so check the restaurant’s page before you order.

Look at restaurant offers before you choose a code
Restaurants run their own offers on Uber Eats, and these apply automatically. A restaurant offer goes on before your account promo, so it’s worth seeing what’s already discounted before you decide which code to use. What If My Discount Code Doesn't Work?

Most Uber Eats codes fail for one of a few reasons, so run through these first:

It’s for new customers only. Many codes only work on a first order. If you’ve ordered before, check Promotions for offers already on your account.

It was added too late. Codes have to be on your account before you order. They can’t be applied afterwards.

Another promo is already applied. Only one promo code works per order, and restaurant offers go on first. Check which promo is selected at checkout.

It only works in certain areas. Some codes are limited to specific cities, and the terms will say where.

You haven’t reached the minimum spend. Check the code’s terms for a minimum basket value.

It’s an Uber rides code. Codes for Uber trips don’t work on Uber Eats.

It has expired or already been used. Past codes are marked Expired or Redeemed under Promotions.

If a code from this page still won’t work, email us at info@myvouchercodes.co.uk or use our contact page so we can check it.

How We Make Money

Using our discount codes is totally free, although we understand that this may seem too good to be true. Like all businesses, we need to make money, and we do this via commission-based relationships with brands and retailers - we earn a small percentage from the retailer every time someone uses a code on our website or clicks through to a sale.

We also make money by offering the brands we work with the chance to buy some extra space on our website, in turn giving more exposure to their biggest and best discounts. And that’s it! By using this model, we’re able to do what we do without charging our customers a penny.

About Uber Eats

Uber Eats is Uber’s food and grocery delivery app. It started in August 2014 as UberFRESH, a lunch delivery trial in Santa Monica, California. It became UberEATS in 2015 and arrived in London in 2016.

In the UK you can now order from local restaurants and national chains, as well as groceries, convenience shops, alcohol and pharmacy items, all in the same app. Fees are broken down before you pay. Your Uber account works for both rides and food, which is why one Uber One membership covers both.

If you’re comparing delivery apps before you order, our Deliveroo discount codes and Just Eat discount codes pages have the latest offers.
