If you're an avid gamer, you've no doubt seen the huge spike in game prices lately. From subscriptions to new game releases, it can be difficult to keep up with everything going on, which is why we've written an extensive guide on how to save money on video games.

Thankfully, The Game Collection has a rewards scheme that aims for you to save money whenever possible. But how does it work? And is it worth it?

What is The Game Collection?

The Game Collection is a site where you can satisfy all your gaming needs. From consoles to games and collectables to tech accessories, The Game Collection has everything you need.

Founded in 2005, they've been in business for over 20 years, supplying their customers with some of the best deals in gaming. With many wondering how they get their games so cheap, The Game Collection strive on having great relationships with their suppliers and can pass on those savings to their customers.

How does The Game Collection rewards scheme work?

The Game Collection's rewards scheme is its way of saying 'thank you' for purchasing games via its website. For every purchase you make, you'll earn reward points. For every £1 you spend, you'll earn 10 reward points.

So with a new game costing £70, you'll earn 700 points. For every 400 points you earn, you'll net yourself a £1 discount to use on all products across the site.

How do I sign up to the rewards scheme?

Signing up for the rewards programme is simple and, best of all, free. Simply use a valid email address and create a password, then you're good to go! You can immediately start earning points for each purchase you make.

The Game Collection also offers the option to earn reward points without even making an account. Just be sure to use the same email address on each purchase.

Place a pre-order for bonus points

In this day and age, pre-orders are becoming less and less needed with day one deliveries and downloads readily available. However, The Game Collection will occasionally offer an extra £10 in reward points for selected pre-orders. So on top of earning your regular reward points on a purchase, you'll get an extra £10 on top!

Also, when you pre-order a game to earn £10 in reward points, The Game Collection has a page dedicated to games that cost £9.95. Which means you can pick up another game completely for free by using your points.

How do I add the reward points to my order?

Adding your hard earned points to your order is straightforward. When you're at the checkout, you'll see an option towards the bottom of the page to add your reward points. You can add as many points as want, if you have enough to cover the price of the game or just want to take a few quid of the price, the choice is yours!

Is The Game Collection legit?

In short, yes, The Game Collection is legit. On Trustpilot, The Game Collection is currently rated as 'Excellent' with a score of 4.8 out of 5 stars based on over 25,500 reviews. They also have a fantastic rating on Reviews.io, with a score of 4.8 out of 5 stars based on over 650 reviews and 95% of reviewers recommending them.

Is The Game Collection loyalty programme worth it?

In my honest opinion, yes. Even if you don't buy video games regularly, with the rewards scheme being free to sign up for, you're essentially leaving money on the table by not signing up. Your points last 365 days from the day you earn them, so if you continue to purchase games from The Game Collection throughout the year, you can earn enough points to buy a game completely using points or take a few pounds off the final price.

By signing up, you'll also gain access to exclusive offers and learn about gaming deals before anybody else. Whether you're an avid gamer or it's something you just dabble in, it's a win-win situation with The Game Collection.

Hey, I’m Matt. I first joined MyVoucherCodes as a Deals Expert, scouring the internet and leaving no stone unturned in finding the best discount codes, sales, and offers for our customers. Moving into my first home during the worst possible time (during lockdown) I understand the necessity of saving money when the purse strings are tight. I’ll do my very best to save you money wherever I can.

Outside of saving money, I’m into video games, movies, books and music. I host a video game podcast called The Retry Hard Podcast, where my friend and I go through news, reviews and video games in general. I also put out music through my pop-punk band, Truika, and as a solo artist under the name Matt Kiano, where I won Best Male Artist of 2025 at the Radio Wigwam awards.
