How to make an adorable Easter basket for less this spring

Spring has finally sprung, and it’s nearly time to celebrate Easter with family and friends. Whether you’re looking forward to hosting Easter lunch or you’re just in it for the chocolate, it’s such a wholesome time of the year.

1. Your basket

Now, social media might tell you that you need to go out and buy a brand new basket, but I think otherwise. Easter is all about celebrating new beginnings, so it’s the perfect time to repurpose something you already own.

I’m talking about an old jam jar, a spare storage basket, a very large mug, or even a flower pot. These items will make your Easter basket all the more adorable.

2. Easter treats

You can’t have an Easter basket without some irresistibly delicious treats, now can you? Avoid paying for over-priced cookies and brownies, and bake some instead. It’s a known fact that I love Jane’s Patisserie recipes, and she has a ton of wholesome Easter recipes to choose from.

Alternatively, level up your fruit with a star-shaped cookie cutter – star-shaped banana and cucumber look adorable. And don’t forget about mini chocolate eggs, too. These are far more affordable than large Easter eggs and taste just as good.

3. Wholesome activity

Over the Easter bank holidays, I love spending time with my family. We eat food and play tons of garden games together, and it’s the best. Include a wholesome activity to do with the kids in their Easter baskets.

4. Personal touches

Finally, add a personal touch to make it one to remember. It doesn’t have to cost you a fortune – think a small note or letter, a handwritten poem, or some DIY coupons. You could do hug coupons, breakfast in bed, a movie night, or just some quality time.
