Tech & Savings Editor

Hey, I’m Matt. I first joined MyVoucherCodes as a Deals Expert, scouring the internet, leaving no stone unturned in finding the best discount codes, sales and offers for our customers. Moving into my first home during the worst possible time (during lockdown) I understand the necessity of saving money when the purse strings are tight. I’ll do my very best to save you money wherever I can.

Outside of saving money, I’m into video games, movies, books and music. I host and edit a video game podcast called The Retry Hard Podcast, where my friend and I go through news, reviews and video games in general. I love movies and watching how they’re made, and I’ve worked as a set decorator for a few months on His Dark Materials season 3, which gave me a massive insight into how it all comes together. I also put out music through my pop-punk band, Truika, and as a solo artist named Matt Kiano, where I won Best Male Artist of 2025 at the Radio Wigwam awards.

My Top Saving Tip

Like everyone else, I’m a fan of good sales. When I worked as a Deals Expert for MyVoucherCodes, I realised that not every website promotes its sales on the homepage. I always recommend that people go hunting a little bit on the website, as a sale can usually be found in a drop-down menu. Hopefully, you’ll find your next purchase at a better price.

What Was the Best Saving You Made?

For the first few months after its release, the PlayStation 5 was almost impossible to buy as it was out of stock everywhere. Thankfully, I had email notifications for when it came back in stock at Currys, and I managed to get a bundle deal that included the PS5 console (with the disc drive) and two brand new games for £500, saving roughly £100-£150.

Who Are My Favourite Retailers?

I love anything video game-related and find that stores such as Argos and Smyths Toys regularly have the best game offers available. I recently picked up Dragon Age: The Veilguard at Smyths Toys for half the price. Those two sites are great at finding new games for a cheaper price, and Argos occasionally has discount codes specifically for video game-related items to save even more money.

I also love music and collecting vinyl. Thankfully, HMV usually has my back in saving me some money, and in the past, I’ve enjoyed deals such as purchasing three vinyl albums for £66.00.
