Discount Code FAQs

Are your discount codes real? ▼
Yes; we have a dedicated team of deal experts searching for valid and tested offers every day. We also work directly with retailers and affiliate networks to bring you the best discounts, deals and exclusive rewards.
What exactly is a discount code? ▼
In its simplest term, a discount code is a code that brings down the total price of a shopping order. These can be displayed in number or word form, or even a combination of the two!
What is an ‘Exclusive’ discount code? ▼
Here at MyVoucherCodes, we have a selection of exclusive codes, deals and rewards that we have negotiated with the retailer directly. This means you won’t find them anywhere and can only be used via our platform. Please note, that for exclusive offers you may need to enter an eligible email address or sign up for our mailing list to gain access.
Is a discount code and a voucher code the same thing? ▼
Yes, they are. They are also commonly referred to as promo codes, and we use these terms interchangeably as people refer to them by different names.
What is the difference between a deal and a discount code on your website? ▼
A discount code is a code that you can pop in when you buy items from a retailer. This code entitles you to the discount and you typically can’t get the saving without it. A deal can offer multibuy savings, freebies and more and are typically available without a code.
Are your discount codes free to use? ▼
Yes, they are! Sometimes you might need to sign up to access the best rewards deals, but this is easy to do and you can opt out any time. Occasionally there are minimum spend thresholds on certain discounts, so check the terms of each offer before continuing to checkout.
What allows them to be free to use? ▼
We earn a commission from the retailer every time a code is used by one of our customers. This allows us to keep doing what we’re doing, whilst ensuring you get your discounts for free! We have a more detailed breakdown of how it all works on our About page.
What should I do if my discount code doesn’t work? ▼
We are sorry to hear that a code or reward isn’t working. The best thing to do in this scenario is to get in touch with our dedicated team via our online contact form and someone will get back to you as quickly as possible. You can find the form on our Contact Us page.
Can I submit a discount code I have found to MyVoucherCodes? ▼
We’re always looking for the best deals and offers to give to our customers. If you think you’ve found one that we’ve missed, then please get in touch! You can do so by filling in and submitting our community code form.
How do I use my code? ▼
  1. Click on ‘Get Code’ and a separate box will pop up.
  2. From here, you’ll be able to copy the code and also visit the retailer's website.
  3. You’ll need to add all relevant items to your cart and proceed to checkout once finished.
  4. Review your items, ensuring they are eligible for a discount, and then paste your discount code into the relevant box.
  5. Then, submit your code and enjoy your discount! Please note, that some retailers have their promo/discount code box located at various stages throughout the checkout process, so be sure to keep your eyes open for it.
How do in-store vouchers work? ▼
If you find an in-store voucher on our site, you’ll need to enter your email address (once prompted if you haven’t already logged in), and the offer will be sent to you digitally. Once you have received it, you’ll be able to use it in the relevant shop or restaurant.

Rewards FAQs

What are the Terms and Conditions of the reward offer? ▼
The Terms and Conditions can be found by selecting the "View Terms & Conditions" dropdown under each reward offer.
How do I use a reward offer? ▼
It’s really simple to use our reward offers to get a free gift card.

1. Our Reward offers will always have a “Reward” label. Just click on the “Get reward” button and be sure to read the T&Cs.
2. Enter your email address and make your qualifying purchase(s) with the specified retailer(s).
3. Sit back and wait for us to notify you that your reward has been activated and we are waiting on confirmation from your retailer.

It can take up to 48 hours for your purchase to track and for us to notify you that it has.
To get your reward, you must click through to the retailer’s site and make your qualifying purchase without clicking on any other offers or going to any other money-saving sites. If you click through to the retailer from another money-saving site after your visit to us, we cannot track your purchase and you will not be able to claim your reward. This is because retailers can only validate a purchase from the last website that referred the customer, known as the "last click referrer".
My reward is 'Activated', what does that mean? ▼
Your reward is “Activated” when you have registered with MyVoucherCodes and we are now tracking your purchase with the retailer.

Please be aware, that even if your reward claim is “Activated”, it is not guaranteed that your purchase and claim will be approved by the retailer with whom you made your purchase. Your claim status will show up as “Activated” for between 30-120 working days from the time you made your purchase.

If it has remained “Activated” for longer, this would indicate that there has been an issue with the tracking of the purchase. To find out more or query this with us, please email our team at info@myvouchercodes.co.uk from the email registered against the claim and include your order confirmation.
How long will I have to wait to get my free gift card? ▼
Once you have registered for a reward and made a qualifying purchase, we have to wait until your purchase has been approved by the retailer. The time it takes for your purchase to be approved varies from retailer to retailer so this will be highlighted in the terms and conditions of your specific reward offer.

The waiting period can take up to 30 working days for retail stores like Asos or Boots, up to 60 days for Travel companies like Expedia or Hotels.com and up to 120 days for Utility companies like EE, BT and EDF. This is because retailers can only validate purchases once the returns, cancellation or cooling-off period has passed.
I made a purchase but my reward is showing as 'Not Activated' or 'Expired'? ▼
It can take up to 48 hours to track your purchase. Once tracked successfully, you'll receive a confirmation email from us informing you of what happens next. You can also view the status of your reward by clicking the "My Rewards" tab in your MyVoucherCodes account.

If it’s been more than 48 hours since your purchase then there may be tracking issues on your reward. If you tried to claim cashback or visited the retailer having clicked through from another discount code site, your reward claim cannot be processed as this violates our terms and conditions. This is because retailers can only validate a purchase from the last website that referred the customer, known as the "last click referrer".

If you have any more questions, please contact our customer support team info@myvouchercodes.co.uk. Make sure to use the email address used to register for the reward and attach your proof of purchase.
What do the reward statuses, “Not Activated", “Activated”, “Approved" and “Ready to Collect" mean? ▼
Our Reward offers have four stages:

Not Activated - this means that you have registered for a reward offer but have not yet made a purchase. Go to your members' area to click through to the reward retailer and make a qualifying purchase to activate your reward journey. If you have already made a qualifying purchase, it can take up to 48 hours for your status to update.
Activated – we have been notified by the retailer that you have made a purchase and we’re now just waiting for them to approve the reward claim. This can take anything from 7 – 90 days depending on who the retailer is. This is because they can only approve a transaction once the returns or cancellation period has ended.
Approved – we have confirmation from the retailer that your purchase has been validated and you can claim your free gift card. Simply click the "Get gift card" button to get your gift card before it expires.
Ready to Collect – Your gift card is ready for you to use. Just click on the “Show gift card” button to view your free gift card and copy the code to use with your next purchase. You don’t have to use the gift card immediately. In most cases, they are valid for up to 2 years.

To access your rewards click "Your Account" and click on the tab with a trophy icon entitled “My Rewards”
Where is my reward? ▼
If your purchase met the terms and conditions on the Reward, you will be notified by email automatically to the email address you used when registering to claim your  Reward. Please be sure to check all folders, including “Spam” if it's not in your inbox.

Depending on the retailer, it can take between 30 – 120 working days for the retailer to approve your purchase. This is to account for the returns or cancellation period to end. For example, retail companies can take up to 30 working days, travel can take up to 60 working days and utilities can take even longer. Always check the terms and conditions when making your reward claim.

When your transaction has been approved, your reward will be available for you to claim in your MyVoucherCodes account.  You’ll need to log in to your account and view the “My Rewards” tab to claim your gift card when it is available. Click on the “Collect Gift Card” button to retrieve the gift card. First-time customers will be asked to set up a password to access the members' area.

Please note: Once you have been notified that your reward is available, you will have 30 days to log in and claim it.

If your reward status is still showing “Not Activated " or “Activated" for 90 days or more after your purchase, please contact us at info@myvouchercodes.co.uk making sure to use the email address used to register for the reward. Please attach your proof of purchase and one of our team will get back to you.
Why do I have to wait for my purchase to be approved before I can get my free gift card? ▼
We know it’s a pain, but the waiting period for your purchase to be approved by the retailer can be up to 30 working days for retail stores like Asos or Boots to 60 days for Travel companies like Expedia or Hotels.com and up to 120 days for Utility companies like EE, BT, and EDF.

This is because the retailers can only validate purchases once the returns, cancellation, or cooling off period has passed.".
My reward offer is "Rejected", what does this mean? ▼
There are 4 reasons why your reward claim could be declined:

1. Your purchase did not meet the minimum spend threshold required to claim the offer.
2. Your purchase was not made within the validity period outlined in the terms and conditions of the offer.
3. The retailer declined the purchase because you returned items, cancelled the booking or service or the payment was not accepted.
4. You applied an additional discount code to your basket and the sale cannot be attributed to MyVoucherCodes.

If you do not believe any of these conditions apply to your transaction(s), please email our customer support team at info@myvouchercodes.co.uk and attach proof of purchase.
Why is my reward not showing in my account? ▼
If you’ve recently made a purchase to claim a reward using one of our reward offers and it's not showing in your account, there are a few possible reasons:

1. Has it been more than 48 hours since you made your purchase? Sometimes it takes up to 48 hours for a transaction to be tracked. If it has been longer, then please contact our customer service team at info@myvouchercodes.co.uk.
2. Do you have more than one registered email address? Please check your emails to see if we’ve sent you an email to an address that is different from the account you are logged in to. When you registered your claim, you would have received an email welcoming you and another email confirming that your purchase was tracked.
3. When making your qualifying purchase after registering, you need to click on the link to the retailer’s site to enable us to track your purchase. If you did not do this or if you visited another saving site, we will be unable to track your purchase and cannot issue a Reward for your purchase as per the terms and conditions of the offer.
Can I use a reward offer in conjunction with any other discount code? ▼
Unfortunately, reward offers are not valid in conjunction with any other cashback or voucher code promotion which is advertised on MyVoucherCodes or any other external sites.

Clicking on any other money-saving site or applying a discount code at checkout disrupts the tracking of your reward claim and violates our terms and conditions. This is because retailers can only validate a purchase from the last website that referred the customer, known as the "last click referrer".
