The ultimate guide to the best Galentine’s Day crafts
These are perfect for quality time with the girls
My friends and I love nothing more than doing crafts together, and Galentine’s Day is no different. From book bedazzling to crepe paper flowers, you name it, we’ve tried it.
At this time of year, it’s the perfect time to find fun ways to celebrate friendship. That’s why I’ve compiled the ultimate list of 10 Galentine’s Day crafts so you can pick and choose what to do for the big day, instead of buying gifts.
They’re all under £20 and a lot of fun. And the best part is, they don’t all require a lot of concentration, so you’ll still be able to have a catch-up while you do them.
1. Bag charms
Personalise your bag with a chic, homemade bag charm. All you need is a few beads of your choice - I recommend some letters, coloured beads, and a charm for the end.
Effort: Medium - high
Cost (approx): £20
What you'll need: Keyring hoop, pliers, clip, jump ring, beads & charms
Where to buy: Amazon, Hobbycraft, and Etsy
2. Crepe Paper flowers
There’s nothing better than flowers - especially if you can keep them forever. Crepe flowers are such a beautiful craft option for Galentine’s Day, and they’ll look lovely in your home.
Effort: Medium
Cost (approx): £10
What you’ll need: Crepe paper, wire, scissors, and hot glue
Where to buy: Amazon and Etsy
3. Tea bag bookmarks
This one's for everyone who loves nothing more than books and brews. Tea bag bookmarks are simply adorable. If you’ve embroidered before, then they’re fairly easy to make, and look as good as shop-bought options.
Effort: High
Cost (approx): £10-£15
What you’ll need: Embroidery thread, needle, felt, and a washable fabric pen
Where to buy: Amazon, Hobbycraft, and Not On The High Street
4. Watercolour painting
I’ve done this a few times with my friends, and it’s always a hit. Use Pinterest for inspiration and get creative. You can frame your paintings or send them to someone as a little Galentine’s Day card.
Effort: Low
Cost (approx): £10-£20
What you’ll need: Watercolour paper, watercolour paint, paint brushes, and pencils
Where to buy: TG Jones, The Works, Hobbycraft, Amazon, and eBay
5. Frame painting
I do this for a lot of my frames to give them a bespoke design, and it would be a great, low-maintenance craft option too. Use Pinterest or Etsy for design inspiration. You’ll end up with a unique frame that’s half the price of a shop-bought one.
Effort: Low
Cost: £10
What you’ll need: Photo frame, acrylic paint, paint brushes, and light grit sand paper
Where to buy: TK Maxx, The Range, Amazon, ASDA George, Dunelm, The Works, and Hobbycraft
6. Punch cards
Track your monthly habits for the year with punch cards. I recently hosted a girly craft day inspired by TikTok, where we made these, and they were both super cute and functional. All you need is a hole punch to punch your cards for every habit or goal you achieve.
Effort: Low
Cost (approx): £10-£20
What you’ll need: Coloured card, patterned paper, pens, pencil, fine liner, ribbon, and a hole punch
Where to buy: Amazon, The Works, Hobbycraft, Etsy, Temu, Argos, Sainsburys
7. Flower arranging
Skip the expensive flower bouquets and make one yourself. Purchase a few different small bunches and have fun turning them into the most stunning arrangement.
Effort: Low
Cost (approx): £10
What you’ll need: Several bunches of flowers, secateurs, and a vase
Where to buy: Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, B&Q, Amazon
8. Candle painting
Patterned candles are all the rage at the moment, and they’re not that difficult to make. All you need is a candle of your choice and some coloured tealights to use as paint. You’ll get a home accessory for a fraction of the cost.
Effort: Low-medium
Cost: £10
What you’ll need: Taper candles, coloured tealights, and a paint brush
Where to buy: Habitat at Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Amazon, Argos, Shein, Temu
9. Book bedazzling
This one’s for any bookworms out there who are not precious about their physical TBR. My friends and I had the best time bedazzling our favourite reads. What’s more, they make great statement pieces on a bookshelf.
Effort: Medium
Cost (approx): £10
What you’ll need: Bedazzling rhinestones, rhinestone glue, bedazzling tweezers, and a book of your choice
Where to buy: Amazon, Etsy
10. Bingo sheets
It’s never too late to set your goals for the year, and what cuter way to do it than with a bingo sheet? All you need to do is think about the kind of goals you’d like to achieve for the year – when I tell you, there’s nothing better than being able to cross them off.
Effort: Medium
Cost (approx): £10
What you’ll need: Card, pens, and a fine liner
Where to buy: Amazon, The Works, Hobbycraft, Etsy, Temu, Argos, Sainsburys

I’m Layla, the home and garden editor, and I started working at MyVoucherCodes in November 2022. I have always loved to write, especially after getting my degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, and since getting my own place, I’ve gotten stuck into all things home and garden.
When I’m not writing about saving money on homely purchases, I’m either sitting with my head in a new book, painting a piece of art for my walls, or binge-watching an interior design programme on Netflix. I love to get inspiration and transform my space, usually with the help of a few Pinterest boards and a couple of tins of paint.
