It’s that time of the year when everyone’s jetting off to far-off destinations in search of some rest and relaxation. But sometimes going abroad is more hassle than it’s worth, and frankly, it’s costly too.
In my experience, holidays in the UK can be just as memorable – if not more – without going over your budget. It’s all about finding the best affordable escapes and staycations that feel like a real getaway.

As a lover of the countryside, the Cotswolds are one of my favourite places to go on holiday in the UK. I’m talking picturesque villages, scenic walks, and an abundance of traditional English pubs to go and enjoy.

Devon is the perfect location for a seaside retreat. With some of the best beaches in the UK and the most indulgent cream teas, it’s a lovely place to stay. In Devon, you’ll find colourful, coastal towns, tons of castles to explore, and quirky model villages.
I’d recommend visiting Woolacombe for the ultimate beach day, followed by some fish and chips. And if you love the idea of exploring winding trails through forests to find medieval architecture, then Dartmoor is perfect for you.

There’s nothing quite like the historic city of Oxford. This location is ideal for those looking for stunning architecture and thoughtfully preserved sites, all within walking distance. In my opinion, Oxford is one of the best UK city breaks, and it can be explored within just a few days.
Some of the top things to do in Oxford include visiting the Bodleian Library and Radcliffe Camera (where Harry Potter was filmed), as well as the Oxford Castle and the Museum of Natural History. The covered market is also worth visiting, and punting is an absolute must.

Bath is just right for those looking for a city break with a good balance of classic and contemporary attractions. You’ll find a wealth of shops on the high street alongside noteworthy buildings such as the Bath Cathedral.
