Bear in mind, there isn’t just a single country ideal for each time of the year as it largely depends on your interest, budget and travel style.

January is one of the cheapest months not only to book your holidays, but also to travel as it’s right after Christmas and New Year’s. It’s one of the best months to go skiing in the Alps in Austria, France and Switzerland. January is also perfect for an adventure trip to see the Northern Lights in Norway, Finland or Iceland. Germany is great in September as it hosts its annual Oktoberfest, which starts at the end of the month. Morocco is also a great place to visit in September. If you’re looking for something more authentic and unknown, visit Jordan’s ancient city of Petra or the countries in Central Asia such as Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Georgia. Other great destinations for this month are Argentina and Brazil. A trip to the breath-taking Iguazu Falls is a must! September is also good time to explore Europe’s most popular places as the temperatures are not very high and the crowds are less.
