Health Service Discounts

Health Service Discounts provide a plethora of money-saving deals and vouchers. Once you become a member you can access travel and holiday deals, and fashion, electrical, and homeware discounts. In addition to this, you can snap up special offers on utilities and mobile phones. 

There are over 1.8 million members at Health Service Discounts and a 4.2-star rating on Trustpilot.

Card - The Cashback card for Health Service Workers

Available to NHS workers, The ODE card is a Visa prepaid card. It offers cashback at hundreds of retailers including Sainsbury's, Boots, Argos, Pizza Hut, B&Q, Halfords, Waterstones, and more. Unlike a credit card, there is no credit check, and you must top up your ODE card before spending. This card is free for the first 12 months and you can save up to 16% cashback at the 80 retailers onboard. 

What you need to know:

  • There is an annual fee of £2.99 after the first 12 months.  
  • You will need to top £5 to get started.
  • You can shop online and in-store.
  • You can combine it with existing retailer offers and loyalty cards. 
  • You can save up to £217 per year with the ODE Card. 

NHS Discount Offers

NHS Discount Offers negotiate with retailers and major brands to bring discounts to NHS staff and health workers. There are hundreds of retailer discounts listed from McDonald's to Amazon. 

What you need to know:

  • All offers and discounts are available online only.
  • You don’t need to sign up or become a member.
  • Some discounts will require NHS ID to access them.
  • You can subscribe and get the latest deals and offers straight to your inbox. 

Blue Light Card

The Blue Light Card provides its holders with a ton of online and high-street savings. Discounts are available to NHS staff, emergency service people, the special care sector, and the armed forces. As well as major shopping retailers that are also deals available with holiday providers, such as Haven Holidays in the UK or Jet2Holidays if you need some beach time. 

What you need to know:

  • The Blue Light Card costs £4.99 for 2 years of access. 
  • ID or a payslip is required when you apply.
  • Some volunteers are eligible with the relevant ID.
  • Retired NHS workers are entitled to the card with a P60 showing their pension. 
  • There’s a handy App available to both Apple and Android users.

What you need to know:

A 20% discount is available to NHS staff when dining in or on takeaway orders. So if a cheeky Nandos appeals, head to your nearest restaurant and enjoy. 

What you need to know:

  • You will need to show a valid NHS ID to access your discount. 
  • A maximum of £20 will be taken off the bill.
  • Others who dine with you can enjoy this discount if paid on one bill.
  • For takeaway orders, you will need to register online and then verify your NHS ID every 6 months.

Frankie and Benny’s

NHS staff can enjoy 20% off when dining at Frankie and Benny’s. There are 85 Frankie and Benny’s restaurants to choose from in the UK. 

What you need to know:

  • Available with NHS ID Cards.
  • One ID card can be used for up to 6 people. 
  • You must purchase 2 main meals.
  • Discount is available from Monday to Sunday. 


When dining at Leon, NHS staff can enjoy a 15% discount. Leon has 61 sites available to choose from. 

What you need to know:

  • Offer is available to NHS and emergency service staff.
  • Show ID when making a payment at the till.
  • Discounts cannot be used on kid's meals or meal deals

Tim Hortons

Get 10% off at Tim Hortons for NHS staff. Why not treat yourself on a lunch break?

What you need to know:

A free £65 delivery pass is available to NHS staff via the ‘More for NHS’ club at Morrisons. 

What you need to know:

Clarks is offering 20% off full-price shoes for NHS Staff via Health Service Discounts.

What you need to know:

  • You will need to sign up for Health Service Discounts to receive your discount code.
  • The discount is only available on adult shoes and accessories.
  • The discount does not include shoes from the ‘Originals’ range, reduced shoes, or shoe care.

JD Sports

NHS and emergency service staff can get 10% off full-priced items with a Blue Light Card at JD Sports.

What you need to know:

  • You must have a Blue Light Card to be eligible.
  • You can shop online or in-store.
  • Either a code will be generated online or show your Blue Light Card in-store. 

Health and Wellbeing

What you need to know:

  • Sign up with your NHS email.
  • The offer is available until 31/12/23.

If you are an NHS worker you can have unlimited free access to the Unmind mental health app.
