Senior National Trust Membership


For those that love the great outdoors, historic buildings, and beautiful gardens the National Trust has a great option for saving money on a membership. Those over the age of 60 who have held a National Trust membership for the last 3 consecutive years become eligible for a senior discounted membership rate.

Senior English Heritage Membership

Odeon Cinemas

Vue Cinemas


Vue Cinema offers a senior rate ticket for showings every Wednesday. There are 91 Vue Cinemas across the UK.

Everyman Cinemas

  • The Silver Screen program is available to those over 55.

Senior Theatre Discounts


If live performances are of interest you will probably be considering a trip to the theatre. Most theatres across the UK offer a concession rate for people over 60 years of age, it’s impossible for us to list them all. But we have a few suggestions to get you started.

The Royal Shakespeare Company


Located at the home of Shakespeare, Stratford-Upon-Avon, at the Royal Shakespeare Company, seniors can watch a classical Shakespeare play written and performed by his contemporaries.

What you need to know:

  • A 20% discount is available.
  • You must be over 65 to be eligible for a discount.
  • Discounted performances are Mondays and Tuesdays along with matinee performances.

The National Theatre


The National Theatre offers a variety of performances across the UK from Othello to Wuthering Heights. 

What you need to know:

  • Discount is available on matinee performances.
  • Travelex appointments are reduced from £35 to £10. 
  • Oliver and Lyttleton tickets are reduced from £52 to £20 on average. 
  • Dorfman tickets are available for £30.

Senior Specsavers Discounts


Looking after our eyesight is vital, especially as we get older. Specsavers have a great offer available to their senior customers. 

What you need to know:

  • Free eye tests are available to those over 60.
  • A discount of 25% is available on lenses and glasses in the £69 and above range.
  • Designer frames and sunglasses are included in the discounted offers. 

Senior Boots Opticians and Boots Hearingcare Discounts


Seniors can make the most of discounts from Boots Opticians and Boots hearing care. There are currently 550 Boots opticians in the UK, so you are sure to find one on a high street near you.

  • You must have a Boots Advantage card to get senior discounts. The Advantage card is free to everyone. 
  • Advantage Card holders are eligible for 25% off prescription glasses or sunglasses.
  • Seniors are eligible for a free hearing test.
  • 15% off hearing aids.
  • Once a year, seniors are eligible for 150 free Advantage points when booking an appointment. 

Senior Gym Discounts


Keeping fit and active is an important part of maintaining health as we age. It also engages people in the community and it’s an excellent way to socialise. 

Better Health Senior Membership


Better Health Senior Membership provides discounted access to swimming pools, gyms, and fitness classes. Better Health is a not-for-profit organisation so all the proceeds for memberships are reinvested into the local community. Benefits include;  an inclusive gym, swimming pool, and fitness class access. Access to health suits including saunas, and jacuzzi where available. Inclusive access to Better at Home - an online library of over 1500 fitness classes and workouts.

  • Senior membership is available to those over 66 years of age. 
  • 7 days priority booking is available via the Better Health App.

Total Fitness Membership


Total Fitness offers a membership for those ages 65 and over. There are 15 health clubs across the UK. Total Fitness wants members to achieve their personal goals and have a range of activities to achieve that. 

What you need to know:

  • You must be 65 or over to receive senior membership.
  • You will have access to a gym floor, swimming pool, track, cafe, ladies-only gym, over 70 fitness classes, and more. 
  • You can try a one-day pass for free. 
  • Buy a 12-month membership or rolling contract.
  • Choose a peak or off-peak rate.
