Everything You Need to Know About the Tesco Clubcard
Wondering how much you can save with the Tesco Clubcard? This article tells you everything you need to know.
Tesco is one of the UK’s biggest supermarkets. You have probably shopped there at least once if not every week. And along with most other supermarkets, they offer a loyalty card - Tesco Clubcard. But how does the Tesco Club Card work? And, what benefits does it provide? This article explains everything you need to know so that you can make informed comparisons with other supermarket rewards schemes.
How do I get a Tesco Clubcard?
In the past, the Tesco Clubcard meant carrying around a plastic card with you every time you shop. However, Tesco now encourages downloading the app. It’s free and easy to do and available via the App Store or Google Play.
How does the Tesco Clubcard work?
In 2023 the way the Tesco Clubcard works has changed, so if you are new to the Clubcard or using one for the first time this is really useful information.
Essentially the Tesco Clubcard allows to:
- Collect points
- Turn points into vouchers
- Get access to Clubcard prices
How to collect Tesco Clubcard points
Use your Tesco Clubcard every time you shop, whether it’s in-store or online. For every £1 you spend you will receive 1 point. So, if you save 250 points, Tesco will give you a voucher worth £2.50. You need to collect a minimum of 150 points worth £1.50 to be able to redeem them via the app.
You can also collect points when buying fuel, paying for Tesco Mobile, and when you use your Tesco credit card. If you sign up for Halfords Motoring Premium you can currently get an additional 500 points.
How to redeem and use Tesco Clubcard Vouchers
Once you have collected enough points to get vouchers you can either wait for Tesco to send vouchers in the post or redeem them on the app. Your vouchers can be spent online or in-store.
However, if you exchange them with one of the Tesco Reward Partners they are worth twice their value! Reward partners include Disney +, RAC, Alton Towers, Cineworld, Goldsmiths and more.
How much can you save with Tesco Clubcard prices?
It seems that there is no set discount when it comes to Tesco Clubcard prices. And it could be argued that some of the prices merely take items down to a price that we are more familiar with before the recent increases. However, Tesco says that it’s possible to save up to £351 a year if you shop regularly and use the larger stores. Items available on a Tesco Clubcard price change regularly - see keep an eye on them! If you were going to buy the items anyway it’s a good way to save some money on your groceries
