Aldi Commits to Donating Over One Million Meals to UK Families During Summer Holidays
Aldi Partners with local charities to support families during the school break.

Aldi is donating more than one million meals to families in need this summer. The supermarket will work with Neighbourly, its food redistribution partner, to get meals to local charities and food banks. These donations are made up of surplus food collected daily from Aldi stores across the UK.
Liz Fox, Aldi's Corporate Responsibility Director, said: "We know that the school holidays can be a particularly challenging time for families, especially when it comes to putting food on the table. By working with Neighbourly and local charities across the country, we hope these meals will help make things a little easier for those in need over the summer months."
Since 2019, Aldi and Neighbourly have provided more than 43 million meals to good causes. The aim is to help families while children are off school and may not have access to meals. “Our aim is for fresh, healthy food to be accessible for everyone, and Neighbourly are helping us to extend this commitment beyond our affordable range of fresh products,” Fox states.
"Summer holidays represent one of the busiest times of the year for charities and food banks, and we expect no less this year," says Steve Butterworth, CEO of Neighbourly. "Aldi's generous donations play a key role in helping support families, and our partnership continues to make a meaningful difference to those who need it most"
Aldi has run similar initiatives during previous holidays, and the company says it will continue to support local communities and families in need. Aldi has also increased its fundraising goal for the Teenage Cancer Trust to £20 million by 2031, up from the previous target of £15 million by 2027.
