Brits will spend over £130 per person on a Christmas tree and decorations this year
18 to 24-year-olds will spend the most on Christmas decor this year.

The survey, which asked 2000 participants about their spending habits when it comes to decking the halls, noted that the age range that will be spending the most is 18 to 24, with each person splashing £194.60.
With the continuing cost of living crisis, 61% of those surveyed said it will affect how much they will spend on decorations this year, with 47% saying they will be decorating an artificial tree and reusing old decorations.
Sarah-Jane Outten, shopping expert at MyVoucherCodes commented on the findings: She said:
"We know that 2024 has been a financially tough year for so many people and that for many people Christmas is going to be difficult. Whether you have the budget to purchase new Christmas decorations or you are cutting back then there are a couple of things you can do and look out for to get the best deal on your tinsel and trees"

Set a budget
If you know you can spend a little on decorations then it’s a good idea to set a budget and stick to it.

Buy baubles in bulk
Individually baubles can be expensive and quickly add up but look out for sets of 12 or 24, and perhaps a 3 for 2 offer on top.

Buy for next year
If you are skipping purchasing new decorations this year but feel like your home needs some, take a look at the Boxing Day and January sales to get fab decorations at a discount.
