What was the best saving I’ve made? The last thing I purchased was...My Favourite Retailers

I’ve been the Health and Beauty Editor here at MyVoucherCodes since March 2022. I love writing, and I’ve been doing it since my second year of university back in 2019, and what I love to write about most is beauty, skincare, health, protein, and wellness. On top of my work for MyVoucherCodes, I have a lifestyle blog on social media.

In my spare time, I enjoy heading to the gym, watching Love Island, and spending some time with a good book. I also have a degree BA degree in Creative Writing and English Literature from Bath Spa University.

What do you love about Health & Beauty?

Starting out by watching beauty videos when I was growing up, nowadays I take my beauty inspiration from social media. And what I’m loving right now is that there are a lot more sustainable beauty companies taking over that space.

In terms of health, I started my fitness journey a few years ago after joining my local gym. I enjoy lifting weights the most, which has led to an interest in protein, vitamins, and general well-being. You will usually find me doing compound weight movements in the gym, to help build overall body strength. I have a lot of love for the online fitness community on Instagram and I’ve gained a ton of knowledge from following personal trainers and fitness bloggers.

Last year, I started my own lifestyle blog on Instagram called @becky.blogs. This space was somewhere to share my latest beauty finds and fitness journey. Now, I use it to post about my local area, petite fashion, and more general lifestyle.

My Top Saving Tip

My top tip for saving on health and beauty products s is to sign up for loyalty cards. Health and beauty brands usually offer some great savings through these. For example, the Boots Advantage Card offers its users Price Advantage which allows them to shop for products at lower prices. It’s also worth signing up for newsletters for easy discounts delivered straight to your inbox.

I was excited to save some money on a new curling wand. The Babyliss Curl Secret 2267U wand was priced at £120 at Boots. I was able to use a discount code and get this reduced to £107.99, saving me 10% on my order. I had done a lot of research into the curling wand I wanted and had been searching for deals for a while. So, I was feeling pretty smug when I was able to, at last, find a discount for this product. Lesson learned: it’s always worth searching for a discount code before you checkout.

One of my most recent purchases was a Wild natural deodorant. While it may not be the most glamorous of orders, I wanted to make a change to use less plastic. I ordered the Raspberry Ripple Starter Bundle and managed to get 20% off. Originally, I signed up for their newsletter to receive 10% off. After a day without purchasing anything, I then received a code for 20% off.

Upcircle Beauty is one of my favourite beauty brands as they focus on sustainability and repurposing ingredients. I also find their products have genuinely helped my skin. Upcircle Beauty is stocked by Holland and Barrett, which is good to know as MyVoucherCodes have regular discount codes for Holland and Barrett.

Boots are another favourite beauty retailer of mine. I enjoy the affordability of their products alongside the wide range of health and beauty brands they offer. Nine times out of ten, I will make a Boots purchase within a month. The key is budgeting ahead and shopping the offers.

For all things protein, MyProtein is my go-to shop. Products I have bought again and again are the Clear Whey Isolate Protein and Active Women MyVitamins. They also have a great range of gym accessories and sportswear. My top tip for shopping at MyProtein is to sign up for text notifications. This way I never miss a flash sale.
