More Information about Hollister
Hollister was created as an affordable alternative to it's parent company, Abercrombie and Fitch, aimed at a younger audience. Hollister takes it's name from the fictional founder John Hollister, who was said to have emigrated from New York to The West Indies. Hollister supposedly returned to Southern Califoria, when here founded the company in 1922. This back story was created by the Abercrombie and Fitch brand to help market it's new label. A fictitious back story is a characteristic of A&F - other brands such Gilly Hicks have a similar stories to add mystery and add an identifiable journey. With over 30 stores in UK, Hollister is quickly becoming popular with an an older audience, as well being a choice label for teenagers.
