What Delivery Options Are Available?

AO offer a variety of flexible delivery options for you to choose from. The price of delivery depends on the items ordered, next-day delivery and the timeslot selected. Delivery is available from 7 am to 7 pm and AO will give you a 4-hour window on the morning of your scheduled delivery.

By paying a little more you can choose your own timeslot to allow you to be able to plan your day. Available timeslots will be shown at the checkout and will vary on your location and what installation and other services are required when AO get there. When going through the checkout process you’ll be given a range of delivery dates to choose from, weekend delivery is even available. Deliveries can be scheduled up to 10 weeks in advance if you need that little bit of extra time to prepare. If there’s been a change of plan then you can rearrange your delivery at any point before 11 am the day before it’s been originally scheduled.

Most AO purchases are delivered by their in-house delivery team, but with some orders, you’ll be given the option to have them delivered by third-party couriers such as DPD. DPD can deliver orders on TV and entertainment and computing and tech orders.

Do They Deliver To Northern Ireland And Remote Areas?

Yes, to certain areas. AO deliver to Northern Ireland and is available for £32 on large appliances and TVs and entertainment products and £22 for smaller appliances. You won’t be able to choose a delivery date, they’ll text you or call you with the date when your parcel has reached the courier and when they’ll deliver it to you. Promotions on delivery like next-day delivery are unavailable on orders to Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, AO do not offer a delivery service to Northern Ireland on computing and tech products.

Delivery to the Scottish Highlands or remote parts is available to selected areas. When entering your postcode at the checkout you’ll see if AO will deliver to your postcode. If delivery is available for your area you may have to pay a little more and promotions aren’t available.

Unfortunately, AO do not offer delivery to the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man or the Republic of Ireland. If you’re unsure as to whether you’re in a remote area, then the best way to check is to enter your postcode at the checkout and you’ll be able to see all of the delivery options on offer to you.

What Happens On The Day Of Delivery?

AO will text you and send an email before 8:30 am on the morning of your delivery, this will contain the estimated 4-hour timeslot to help you plan your day. As you track your order throughout the day the delivery window will get smaller as they get closer to delivering to you. Once your delivery arrives, AO won’t leave your order on your doorstep and leave you to struggle, they’ll also take it into whichever room you need it in before carrying out any other services you may have purchased.
For orders where you’ve opted for delivery by DPD, you’ll receive a 1-hour timeslot on the morning of your delivery. If the time you receive is unsuitable or your plans have changed, the text from DPD will have a link that will let you change your delivery day to one that’s more convenient.

Do AO Deliver Upstairs?

AO do deliver upstairs but their delivery drivers have the final say on whether a delivery is actually possible. When you place an order, you’ll be asked how many steps your home has so the drivers can be as prepared as possible on the day.

Can I Get My Device Installed?

Do AO Disconnect Old Devices?

Yes, as well as offering installation, AO also offer a disconnection service as part of the same package. AO will disconnect integrated laundry and cooling appliances, integrated dishwashers, cooking appliances and TVs.

AO are unable to disconnect an old integrated appliance if you’re replacing it with a freestanding appliance. They also don’t offer the disconnection service on vented tumble dryers, freestanding microwaves and cooker hoods. Hardwired and Integrated appliances can only be disconnected if you’ve purchased a new one from AO and added the installation service. Fridges and freezers being disconnected must be defrosted and fully emptied with no water inside of them.

Disconnection services are also available if you don’t need anything installed. AO can still disconnect freestanding washing machines, freestanding washer dryers, freestanding dishwashers and slimline dishwashers and American fridge freezers with a plumbed water dispenser. All you have to do is simply add the service to your basket before you checkout. Disconnection prices start from only £5 and vary depending on the type of product being disconnected and will be shown during the checkout process. You can also add the service after you’ve placed your order by contacting AO on the live chat by 5 pm the day before your delivery and it will be arranged for you.

Do AO Take Away Old Devices?

Yes, after your device has been disconnected AO can take old appliances away as part of their Remove & Recycles service on the same day that they deliver your new one. Once AO have collected your old appliances they’ll take them to their trailblazing recycling facility for them to be recycled, so you can do your bit to help save the planet as well as save yourself some time and a journey to the tip.

The Remove & Recycle service can only be added when you are buying a new product from AO. However, they also offer a Collect & Recycle service. With this service, you don’t need to buy a new product and can simply add the service to your basket on its own. Appliances collected using either service both get taken to the same facility and go through the same recycling process. Cookers, fridges, freezers and fridge freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers and TVs can all be collected and recycled. More than one appliance can be collected at a time but you’ll need to add the service to your basket once per item and can be a mixture of Remove & Recycle and Collect & Recycle services. The Collect & Recycle service is available from only £20 per item and is available 7 days a week and even available for the next day depending on where you live.

AO’s recycling facility is the only one like it in the UK and it recycles 700,000 fridges every year. This is around 20% of the UK's total and takes care of any harmful gases or oils that could damage the environment. AO are also part of the government’s WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive so they dispose of appliances in the most environmentally-friendly way that they can.

Do AO Offer Click and Collect?

Yes, AO partner with CollectPlus to offer a click-and-collect service if it’s more convenient. With over 7000 locations across the UK that you can choose to collect from on a map when you’re going through the checkout process. You may be able to choose a delivery date, but if not, click and collect orders will be delivered within 3 days. Next-day collection is available in some locations.

After completing your order, AO will send you an email with a link to track your order. Once your order is ready for collection, you’ll receive a text and an email to let you know. Orders can be delivered to pick-up locations until 9 pm. You’ll then have 10 days to collect your order, AO will remind you if you haven’t collected it within 3 days and then another after 7 days.

All you’ll need to collect your order is your unique barcode and a form of valid ID. This could include a valid driving license, passport, utility or mobile phone bill, bank statement, cheque book or credit or debit card.

AO are unable to offer finance on click and collect orders and the service is unavailable if you live in the Republic of Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. Some products are too big for the service, you’ll find out whether your order is eligible at the checkout. Finally, since the order will be going to a store, rather than arrive with one of AO’s experts, additional services such as installation, removal and recycling are unavailable.
