Goldsmiths have a handy online valuation service that can offer you an instant sale price. If you’re happy with the amount that you’ve been quoted, you can securely post your watch to them or visit one of their showrooms. Please note, you’ll need to include or bring two copies of your ID with you.
How much will Goldsmiths buy my watch for?
This largely depends on the type of watch you’re looking to sell, and the condition that it’s currently in. The online valuation you receive will be dependent on the information that you provide, and will only be confirmed once an expert assessment has been carried out. If you take your watch in-store you’ll receive a more accurate valuation in the first instance.
Can I part exchange my watch?
Yes, you can! If you’re looking to upgrade your watch, you can trade in your old one to help keep costs down. Part exchanges can only be done in-store, and a valuation will take place before you receive your trade-in offer.
What watches will Goldsmiths accept?
Goldsmiths only accept luxury brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, Omega and Breitling. There are others too, such as Hublot and TAG Heuer, and a full breakdown of the brands accepted can be found on the Goldsmiths website.
Will I be charged for getting my watch valued?
No, there is no fee for online or in-store valuations and there is no pressure to sell should you not want to.
Is the valuation guaranteed?
If you bring your watch to be valued in-store, you’ll receive an accurate valuation that will be honoured. However, if you choose to get an online valuation, the quote you receive will be subject to a physical expert assessment. If the valuation changes following the assessment, you’ll be notified right away.
What if my watch is broken?
You won’t be able to obtain a valuation for your watch if it doesn’t work. That being said, you can get the watch repaired at Goldsmiths, and we recommend taking it in-store to discuss your options with an expert member of staff. If the repairs aren’t too costly, you could still make a healthy saving by part-exchanging.
How long does it take to receive payment from Goldsmiths?
Once the Goldsmiths Pre-Owned department has received your watch, you should receive a payment within 5 working days. Please note that this time frame includes the assessment and your acceptance of the final valuation offer. If you have not accepted the offer, payment cannot be made.
