Gareth Williams launched this website in 2001 to allow users to collect and compare prices for every commercial flight worldwide. Even before its official launch, the website had earned many followers who used it to find cheaper flights. At that point Williams and his co-founders Bonamy Grimes and Barry Smith realized that the business was growing. They opened an office in Edinburgh, and through their continued efforts, SkyScanner became the leading flight search engine in Europe. To meet the demand for their services, they eventually opened offices in Singapore, Beijing, Miami and Barcelona.
